In an early work comprises c30 essays which were published serially in the Cardiff-based 'Western Mail' between 1924-25. Each deals with businessmen and women associated with the development of coal mining and associated industries as well as the associated infrastructure and cities / towns such as Cardiff, Swansea and Newport.
