Provides an account of the Low Walker Yard, Newcastle, established in 1852 by Charles Mitchell. Later part of Sir W G Armstrong Whitworth & Co Ltd. 1929 Armstrongs merged with Vickers to form Vickers Armstrong when the latter leased the yard to Sir W G Armstrong Whitworth (Shipbuilders) Ltd. Yard closed 1948. Provides an account of the yard's history and especially of its output.
