Notes:
The writer was son of Walter Wilson, 1874-1957, and worked with his father from the mid 1930s. Provides an account of the working life of his father, an inventive engineer. Deals extensively with W Wilson's chief interest, Self Changing Gears Ltd, from the 1930s to 1960s covering different ownerships - notably Armstrong Siddeley and Leyland Motors; licencing arrangements; etc. Also deals with Wilson's other inventive activities, most notably military equipment in wartime, especially tanks
