Provides an account of the history of the North Bay piers with much on the businesses that built and operated them. The first pier was built by Scarborough Pier & Improvement Co Ltd, established 1862 and dissolved 1882. Second pier built in 1869 by Scarborough Promenade & Pier Co Ltd which was wound up in 1889. Then acquired by Scarborough North Pier Co Ltd who in 1904 sold it to its manager. Demolished 1914
