Published in the USA as 'Gunmakers of London', 1986. Mostly comprises a dictionary of many hundreds of makers [pp39-209] for the most part giving brief bibliographical details - notably name, address, timespan - but some entries are much longer. There is also an introductory essay [pp9-29] the sections of which include: 'Gunfounders and gun forgers'; 'A gathering of gunmakers'; 'Rival companies and a charter'; 'Civil wars and Restoration'; 'Foreigners and foreign parts'; 'Liverymen, inventors and writers'. Also 'Gunmakers' marks' [pp211-15]. Appendices provide, inter alia, some inventories of early gunmakers.
