William Fremlen, c1607-45, was an employee of the East India Company from 1626 when he briefly served in the company's ships. From 1628 served at Agra, from 1637 was agent in Persia and from 1638 held the important post of President at Surat. Also traded on his own account. 1644 returned to Britain and died 1645
