Transcription of Tucker's diary in the early years of his life. Includes some references to his business activities, notably about his early employment in the counting house of John Stancomb until 1831 and thereafter in the business of William Stancomb, later W & J S Stancomb, where he sold cloth sometimes in distant markets. Provides relatively little detail of his own business from 1849. Includes an introductory chapter on Tucker [ppvii-xix]
