Consulting mechanical engineers. Established in 1917 as Ricardo & Co by (Sir) Harry Ricardo, 1885-1974; he had formerly worked as an engineering for the civil engineers, Rendel & Robertson. Experimented privately with engine development, acquired patents and in 1915 set up his first company, Engine Patents Ltd.
