From 1870s also made marine engines especially for small warships. 1884 Alfred Morcom, d1905, joined business which in 1899 was incorporated as Belliss & Morcom Ltd when quoted on Birmingham Stock Exchange. 1968 merged with W H Allen Sons & Co Ltd of Bedford to form Amalgamated Power Engineering Ltd which was later part of Northern Engineering Industries
