Notes:

Traced origins to 1861 as boat builders and repairers at Northwich, in particular dealing with barges, steam tugs, etc. Soon making fabricated metal products, eg salt pans and processing plant, for local salt and alkali industries, in particular Brunner, Mond & Co from 1873. Also made storage tanks for the oil storage and distribution industry at Manchester. Sold by Parks family in 1919 to Major H B Denton who revived and substantially expanded the business especially into structural steel work for factory, office, department store, cinema, etc, construction, as well as continuing to make processing plant, bogies for motor vehicles, etc. 1937 opened additional works at Halton. Still operating 1960s
