Traced origins to c1860 when established in Soho by Ludovic Noel, d1901, as importers of cheese and butter. Soon extended to other imported luxury foods and to bottling French wines. In 1880s started food manufacture beginning with jams and later bottled goods such as capers and gherkins and subsequently canned fruits. Built food processing factory in Southwark. Incorporated 1900 as L Noel & Sons Ltd. 1917 acquired Kincaid & Co, caviar dealers. 1932 reconstructed when financial control obtained by Henry Peck & Co Ltd. 1946 control regained by Noel family. c1963 acquired by Fitch Lovell Ltd [2023]
