New business known as Amalgamated Needles and Fish Hooks Ltd which in 1932 created, as its manufacturing business, English Needle & Fishing Tackle Co Ltd. 1946 renamed Needle Industries Ltd. 1940s J & P Coats Ltd took a major equity interest and in 1972 acquired the business. 1965 fishing tackle business sold to Farlows of Alnwick. By 1980s UK's sole remaining needle maker. Made wide variety of needles, eg surgical, hosiery, gramophone, knitting, etc
