Headquarters were in Edinburgh. Created a leading entertainment 'syndicate' with major theatres in most cities including in 1890s Edinburgh, Newcastle, Liverpool, Nottingham, Sheffield, etc. In 1900 opened the London Hippodrome. Stoll withdrew in 1910 to focus on his own circuit. 1932 merged with the General Theatre Corp to form Moss Empires Group. 1950s re-merged with Stoll chain to form Stoll Moss Theatres Ltd. In 1960s acquired by the Grade family's Associated Communications Corp. Subsequently acquired by Heyterbury Party Ltd of Australia and sold on in 2000 to Really Useful Group [2024]
