Notes:

Lewis Morris, 1701-65, was a land and hydrographical surveyor whose first survey, of Anglesey, was undertaken in 1723. From 1737 to early 1740s undertook hydrographical survey of Welsh coast for Admiralty. From 1740s developed lead, etc, mining interests in Cardiganshire and Shropshire. Subsequently acted as surveyor and agent for various Welsh landowners and for the Crown regarding its lead mining interests in Wales. Also established printing press in Anglesey in 1730s to print Welsh texts
