Benjamin Banks, 1727-95, was a stringed instrument maker, especially of violins, cellos and violas. Sold through London retailers Longman & Broderip. Had interests in London. His workplace was sometime referred to as Banks Musical Manufactory. Succeeded in business by his sons, James, d1831, and Henry, d1830. 1811 business acquired by Alexander Lucas. Sometime James and Henry relocated to Liverpool
