Did a large business in providing rings for marine engines. 1898 incorporated as Lockwood & Carlisle Ltd (while the continuing ivory cutting business was incorporated as Carlisle Brothers Ltd until closed in 1938). Closed Sheffield plant in 1982 and merged with Torday Ltd to form Torday & Carlisle Plc
