Established 1823 by John W Lea, d1874, and William Perrins, 1793-1867, as retailing / wholesaling chemists dealing in a very wide range of products. Soon opened branches in neighbouring Midlands towns - Kidderminster, Cheltenham, etc. 1845 established a factory to make their eponymous table sauce. From 1850s also selling mineral water and in this connected with the firm of Burrow Brothers. Incorporated 1930 when sold to HP Sauce Ltd, later Smedley HP Foods Ltd. In latter part of 20th century developed overseas markets for Worcester Sauce, notably in USA via John Duncan & Son of New York. In 2005 acquired by H J Heinz Co Ltd [2023]
