Charles Eamer Kempe, 1837-1907, was a stained glass artist and producer who set up in business in mid 1860s to make church decorations, largely stained glass for windows. About then known as Kempe Studios. Achieved considerable success and in 1874 established his own glassmaking works at Camden Town. About time of his death incorporated as C E Kempe & Co Ltd. Business inherited by his cousin, Walter E Tower, on Kempe's death and closed 1934
