Notes:

Traced origins to 1817 when established by Joseph Chiesa as a maker of barometers. Known as Greener & Chiesa from 1830 and as Cheisa & Keizer from 1842 when carvers and guilders, looking glass and clockmakers and dealers in plate glass. Renamed L Keizer & Co from 1853. Incorporated 1902 when gave up clock, etc, making to focus on glass engraving and glass processing especially for building installation. Also started to make mirrors, etc, and deal in plywood. From 1920s made numerous acquisitions including Scottish & Baltic Trading Co Ltd in 1926. Latterly focused on glass merchanting and glazing, giving up processing, and especially on trading in plywood. 1965 merged with Venesta Plywood Ltd, part of Venesta International, and No Nail Boxes Ltd to form Keizer Venesta Ltd. 1966 incorporated glass department as Keizer (Glass) Ltd which in 1967 was sold to Pillar Holdings Ltd. Developed as leading traders in plywood with a national distribution network.
