Established as Kryn & Lahy Metal Works Ltd in 1915 by Belgian interests to make ammunition. Shortly after established a steel foundry which in 1920s made castings for locomotive builders. In liquidation 1927 and acquired in 1928 by George Cohen Sons & Co Ltd (otherwise known as 600 Group) when known as Kryn & Lahy (1928) Ltd. Assets of other business transferred and developed as steel founders and engineers making machine tools, petrol engines, mining equipment, etc. Later known as K&L Steelfounders & Engineers Ltd
