Traced origins to 1869 when established by Alfred Balding as printers and publishers. Briefly published Wisbech Mirror. Joined in 1892 by Edward Mansell to become Balding & Mansell. From then had London office. Built new factory. Early on printed books and especially catalogues for retail stores such as Harrods, Swan & Edgar, Liberty & Co, Selfridges, etc. From c1929 printed and published calendars which became an important focus. Latterly noted as fine art printers working for galleries, etc. Also printed British Library catalogue. 1962 acquired by Universal Printers Ltd/Bemrose Corp Ltd. 1982 acquired by management. Sometime known as Balding & Mansell Plc. Sometime member of Saxon Print Group
