Traced origins to 1796 when established as leather factors at Edinburgh by George Inglis, 1770-1847. Relocated to Glasgow in 1848. From 1880s opened branches with warehouses and by 1901 these were at Northampton, Leicester, Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester. By then leading leather merchants. Still operating 1920s
