Traced origins to 1832 when Joseph Huntley, son of Joseph Huntley, biscuit baker at Reading, established an ironmonger's business at Reading and started to make decorated tin boxes for his father. The latter was in the process of developing what came to be known as Huntley & Palmer, leading biscuit manufacturers who sold much of output in tin boxes. 1846 joined by Joseph Boorne as partner and from 1872 known as Huntley Boorne & Stevens. From 1918 fully owned by Huntley & Palmer Ltd when 60% of output went to H&P. Also supplied Bryant & May until mid 1920s. By 1960s 30% out going to H&P. 1985 acquired by Linpac Group
