Established in 1822 by Joseph Huntley as biscuit bakers. Known as Joseph Huntley & Son from 1829 and as Huntley & Palmer from 1841 after George Palmer joined the partnership. Incorporated 1898 as Huntley & Palmers Ltd when largest biscuit making business in world. 1921 merged with Peek Frean Ltd as Associated Biscuit Manufacturers Ltd but continued to trade separately. Acquired W & R Jacob & Co Ltd of Liverpool in 1960 and subsequently the biscuit making business was known as Associated Biscuits Ltd. 1982 acquired by Nabisco of USA and sometime thereafter known as Jacob's Bakery Ltd.
