Traced origins to 1720 when established in Watling Street, City of London, by Samuel Robinson as a fur and skin broker. 1770s William Goad joined partnership when known as Robinson Goad & Row. By 1780s holding public auctions. Thereafter had numerous styles before being known as Goad Rigg & Co from 1854. Also dealt in tallow. Closely associated with C M Lampson & Co, leading fur merchants, and Hudson's Bay Co
