In early 1920s acquired Locke Lancaster & W W & R Johnson & Sons Ltd, Cookson Lead & Antimony Co Ltd and Rowe Brothers (Bootle) Ltd. Subsequently acquired many others including leaders such as Walkers Parker & Co Ltd of Newcastle upon Tyne. Merged with Goodlass Watt & Co Ltd in 1930 to form Goodlass Watt & Lead Industries Ltd, a public company. From 1949 traded as Associated Lead Manufacturers Ltd and later Lead Industries Group. Eventually had a near monopoly of lead products manufacture. Renamed 1982 Cookson Group. Lead interests acquired by Calder Group in 1994
