By 1788 traded John English & Sons. 1795 reorganised the business to establish a second partnership of T & J English, based at Bromsgrove, later Birmingham, for country distribution. c1788-1876 sometime traded in partnership with J B Toulmin, until 1810, and from 1817 with J J W Gutch as English & Gutch. From 1870s owned by Gutch family. Incorporated c1897. Closed 1925?
