Established works and sold licences for production. 1842 joined by Josiah Mason, steel pen maker, when known as Elkington Mason & Co. 1853 works were in Newhall Street. Renamed Elkington & Co 1861 by when largest electroplating business in world, making a very wide variety of products. Also had large copper smelting works at Pembrey, South Wales. Incorporated 1887 as a public company. Merged into British Silversmiths Ltd 1963 and later a subsidiary of Delta Metal Co Ltd
