Established in mid 19th century by Thomas Edmondson, 1792-1851, with his son John B and brother Joseph. Formed to produce and market an innovative ticketing system for, inter alia, railway companies. Supplied printed tickets and all associated machinery such as dating presses, ticket nippers, ticket holders, etc. Based in Manchester and early on had branches in London and Dublin. Continued until after 1940s. The family also had important laundry interests in Dublin under Thomas Edmondson, 1837-1908
