Traced origins to c1820 and the establishment by Josiah Easton of a millwright, engineering and lead pipe manufacturing business at Southwark. James Easton and Charles Amos were important early partners when business was known as Easton & Amos. Soon came to specialise in hydraulic machinery including hydraulic jacks, hydraulic lifts, land drainage and waterworks equipment including pumping engines, etc. Also sometime made sugar and papermaking machinery. Relocated from 1864 to new works at Erith, known as Erith Iron Works. By 1872 known as Easton & Anderson. (Sir) William Anderson, 1834-98, was a partner from 1863-89. Incorporated c1900. 1893 merged with Goolden & Co to form Easton Anderson & Goolden. By 1901 known as Easton & Amos & Co Ltd. 1908 assets acquired by Pulsometer Co Ltd
