Traced origins to a bacon curing business established in Ireland in c1820 by Henry Denny, 1789-1870. Developed as a leading bacon processing business exporting to Europe, especially Britain. Subsequently dealt also in butter. Established a London agency in 1840s to import and deal in bacon and known as E M Denny & Co Ltd in 1880. Subsequently established businesses in Europe and Northern Ireland. By 1970s holding company was E M Denny (Holdings) Ltd. In 1970 referred to as provisions, produce and canned goods importers and meat importers and exporters
