Corporation initiated its undertaking in 1844 when it built Spon End Pumping Station. 1895 Whitley Pumping Station built. From 1913 much of Coventry's water supply derived from the water undertaking of Birmingham Corporation. 1921 acquired North Warwickshire Water Co thereby greatly extending its supply area. 1973 merged with others to form Severn Trent Regional Water Authority
