Notes:

Colthrop Mills were converted to papermaking in 1740s and subsequently had several operators. Early 1860s leased by John Henry and soon thereafter purchased by him. Continued by his sons who briefly also owned another mill at Ivybridge, Devon, 1908-11. 1918 acquired by Cropper family operating as Colthrop Board & Paper Mills Ltd. 1923 Croppers relocated all of their business to Colthrop. Output then included folding box cartons and corrugated container cases. 1956 Reed Group acquired interest in Cropper and full ownership from 1958
