Traced origins to 1900 when John Collins established a butcher's retail, slaughtering and meat manufacturing business at Broadway. By 1913, when joined by his sons, the Collins family had four businesses, the others being at Redditch, Chipping Campden [closed 1916] and Evesham [opened 1908]; they also had farming interests. Early on known as Collins Bros. 1920s opened other shops at Cheltenham, Warwick, Leamington.1923 Broadway operated independently from rest of business. Evesham branch diversified into curing and canning; it was acquired by Isaac Beer & Son Ltd in 1949. Broadway business diversified into contract slaughtering, pig rearing, etc, as well as producing sausages, cured bacon, hams, etc. Incorporated c1949 as H H Collins (Broadway) Ltd. 1960s opened bakery and in 1970s established curing plant. Late 1970s acquired local ham curing and sausage making businesses. Broadway shop at least continuing in 2024 [2024]
