Alexander Ellis Anderson, 1866-1935, spent most of his professional career in Northampton. Early on practiced as a surveyor and draftsman. 1893 moved to Northampton from Glasgow as an architect initially in practice with Abraham Mosley and Harold Scrivener trading as Mosley & Anderson. From 1900 in practice alone. Retired c1928. Designed, inter alia, garages, motor houses, churches, factories, shops, cinemas and warehouses. Notable clients were the local co-operative society and the footwear trade
