Established by William Jones, 1832-1923, sometime before 1869. Grew to be a very large malting business with at least eight substantial maltings by 1897. In that year he acquired the large former flax mill, Ditherington Mill at Shrewsbury and converted it to a maltings. William was succeeded in business by his son, Richard, 1862-1948. Bankrupt 1933-4 but continued. 1948 acquired by Ansells Brewery Ltd of Birmingham and Taylors' largest customer
