This was dissolved in 1910 when one of its partners, Sir Arthur Wheeler Bt, 1860-1943, continued on his own account. Specialised in shares of small businesses and developed pioneering direct marketing to potential investors. Alongside this business he developed in 1924 as a vehicle for issuing securities of small businesses, the London based Gresham Trust Ltd. He subsequently established Charterhouse Investment Trust for issuing securities of larger businesses. His brokerage business became over-extended and collapsed in 1931 after which he was jailed for fraud [2023]
