Traced origins to Folkestone Pier Co Ltd formed in c1874 to build a pier at Folkestone but unsuccessful and wound up 1884 when Folkestone Pier & Lift Co Ltd formed. Pier opened 1888. Unprofitable and so from 1894 Company leased part of pier and subsequently whole of pier to Keith Prowse Ltd. From 1907 leased to Victoria Pier Syndicate (Folkestone) Ltd [Forsyth Brothers] until c1930s. Demolished 1950s
