Traced origins to 1885 when formed through merger of two very old established Birmingham engineering businesses, Onions and Alldays. Incorporated as Alldays & Onions Ltd when made forge equipment such as bellows, portable forges, etc. 1889 renamed Alldays & Onions' Pneumatic Engineering Co Ltd. Soon made bicycles and subsequently motorcycles from 1903 to 1927. Made motor cars and vans, 1898-1918. By c1913 also making wide range of other general engineering equipment including anvils, vices, bellows, portable fans, blowers, grindstones, power hammers, hoisting gear, etc. Floated 1916. Sometime renamed Alldays & Onions Ltd. A connection was Enfield Autocar Co Ltd, established 1906, acquired by W Allday in 1908 and known as Enfield Alldays Motors Ltd in 1919. Reorganised mid-1920s when in difficulties as New Alldays & Onions Ltd. Subsequently subsumed into Mitchell Cotts Group [2024]
