Traced origins to 1840s when established by Joseph Farrow to make mushroom ketchup, His son, J A Farrow, 1850-1940, developed the business and sold in bulk to distributors who sold under their own label. Later sold under his own label and did a major business. 1880s started to make own mustard using materials from own farms. Developed factories also at Boston and Holbeach. 1912 acquired by J J Colman Ltd
