Traced origins to 1858 when established at Liverpool by William Cafferata. 1862 stated to develop major plaster works and associated mines and quarries at Beacon Hill, Newark, including Hawton Gypsum Mill. Soon developed other plant and mines near to what came to be known as Beacon Hill Plaster Works. Incorporated 1922. 1936 acquired by British Plaster Board Ltd but long continued as an identifiable entity
