Established c1955 as the commercial property vehicle of Jack Cotton, 1903-64, when he bought Mansion House Chambers Ltd and merged it with Chesham House (Regent's Street) Ltd to form City Centre Properties Ltd. Developed as a leading London property business. 1960-61 merged with City & Central Investments Ltd, led by Sir Charles Clore, 1904-79, to form City Centre, the largest property company in the world. Within three years Cotton withdrew following a dispute with Clore. A major asset was the Pam Am Building in New York. 1968 City Centre was acquired by Land Securities Ltd
