1929 established by James Weston-Evans at Clifton, Manchester, to make bearings and sell industrial lubricants. 1934 acquired the old established and well known Exol oils and greases business. 1943 acquired W P Evans & Son Ltd, the business of William P Evans, father of James Weston-Evans, which made bearings and dealt in lubricants especially for the papermaking industry. Developed this as a papermaking machinery production business. 1947 started manufacture of lubricants latterly as Trade Lubricants Ltd. 1949 incorporated
