Established in London in 1888 by Percy E Fisher. Soon after merged with Rea & Son to become Rea, Son & Fisher with works at Godalming, Surrey. Fisher withdrew in 1913 and established a new business at Basingstoke. c1920 converted to a public company on Fisher's withdrawal but soon reverted to private ownership, under Sir John Jarvis, as Percy E Fisher (1928) Ltd. 1946 reconverted to a public company. Traditionally supplied leather for footwear, clothing and gas meter industries. 1949 acquired Wingrove & Edge of Marlborough, chrome leather manufacturers
