Traced origins to 1922 when established by A T Izzard as a business replacing domestic gas lighting with electrical lighting. From early 1930s changed track to open an electrical and radio retail shop and by 1939 had five branches. This collapsed 1939-45 and post 1945 started to manufacture wireless components, and soon after components for telephones, at a factory at Broxbourne.
