Established in 1920 through merger of two long established and leading pencil makers, E Wolff & Son and Arthur Johnson Ltd. Johnsons dated to 1803 when established by Samuel Cohen and was incorporated 1904 as Arthur Johnson Ltd. Latterly developed a large factory at Neasden. Wolffs were established in 1796, developed in particular by Elias Wolff, 1799-1854, and latterly had large works at Battersea
