Bernat Klein, b1922, was a textile designer and maker working largely in Scotland. 1952 established Colourcraft (Gala) Ltd at Galashiels to make rugs and other textiles sold at his shop in Edinburgh. Business subsequently renamed Bernat Klein Ltd and a substantial stake acquired by Imperial Tobacco Co Ltd. 1966 re-established his business at Selkirk and in 1960s and 70s designed and made fabrics for leading couture houses using local hand knitters and also developed his own clothing collection. Also acted as a design consultant, etc
