Robin Day, 1915-2010, was a furniture designer and his wife, Desiree Lucienne, 1917-2010, was a designer of textiles. Early on they worked together on exhibition and trade-stand design but subsequently worked independently, sharing a studio, etc. They were at their most active in the 1950s and 60s. Lucienne's clients included Heal & Co Ltd, British Overseas Airways Corp [BOAC] and the Festival of Britain. Robin was noted for his use of plastic in furniture design, eg to assist in chair stacking.
