Major manufacturer of motor cars, trucks, buses and components. Established in 1968 as British Leyland Motor Corp Ltd through the merger of British Motor Holdings Ltd and Leyland Motor Corp Ltd. 1975 nationalised as British Leyland Ltd and renamed BL Ltd in 1979, later BL PLc. 1979 entered a collaborative arrangement with Honda involving equity exchange and model development. 1986 name changed to Rover Group plc and 1988 sold to British Aerospace.
