Traced origins to British Cyanide Co Ltd established at Oldbury in 1894 to manufacture arsenic for use in extracting of gold from low grade ores. Developed into a manufacturer of basic chemicals including synthetic resins for use in production of plastics. 1929 acquired first moulding plant through acquisition of Streetly Manufacturing Co Ltd. 1936 renamed British Industrial Plastics Ltd which became holding company 1954. Started mould tool making 1936. 1961 acquired by Turner & Newall Ltd
